Mas Donis Barrica 2005, 91 points Robert Parker. This is a Spanish red, 85% old vine Grenache/ Syrah blend that would be perfect paired with a rare ribeye ($5.99 lb. for whole rib eye) save $9.00 per lb. or $8.99 lb for precut steaks.
When the spanish say old vine, they mean it. The Grenache is 80+ years and the Syrah is a young vine, 30+ years old. The wine is silky smooth with red and black fruit, nuance of violet, black licorice and slate, has a full rich mid pallet and bright finish. The kicker is that you save $7.00 a bottle.
