Organic Pinova Apples

For those in search of something a little different, we have brought in one of our favorite apples this year: organic Pinova apples fresh from Columbia Gorge out of Hood River, Oregon.
Pinova (also called Sonata, Piñata, and Corail) is a new apple variety with old-fashioned apple flavor. Bred in Dresden, Germany, the variety was introduced in 1986 and has since become very popular in Europe. Its family tree includes ‘Duchess of Oldenburg’, ‘Cox Orange Pippin’ and ‘Golden Delicious’ varieties. The flavor resembles a ‘Gala’ with a phenomenal aromatic “apple” taste. Unlike Galas, however, they have plenty of crunch and juice late into the winter months!
Columbia Gorge has long been one of our best suppliers of fantastic Hood River 100% organic apples. They are truly committed to sustainable farming; selling their best as is, and crafting delicious ciders with the rest. Pulp and other damaged apples are converted to organic humus, which is than composted into fertilizer for super-rich soil.
Don’t miss the opportunity to try out this unique and delicious piece of fruit. It will be on sale starting this Wednesday for $1.49/lb, $1.50 off its normal price!
