Walking our beer cooler, I was noticing many summer beers are already here for your drinking pleasure. With the summer heat starting this week it seems like a perfect time to list some of my favorites:

• Saint Arnold's Summer Pils, granted it is the home town favorite but always a great light easy-drinking pilsner

• Brooklyn Summer is new for us this year: great rich flavor but a subtle lighter-style finish than their other beers

• Anchor Brewing from San Fransisco always produces a great, crisp, well-balanced summer brew. Also, as one of the first small craft brewers, they always produce wonderful beers!

• Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager is a wheat beer made with real Louisiana strawberries, picked late in the season when they’re at their sweetest. This beer always sells out fast so don't wait!

• Southern Star Brewing is another local brewery located in Conroe. Granted this isn't a summer seasonal, but I wanted to plug their lastest new offering, which is a American Blonde Ale which fits perfectly into the summer beer drinking catagory.
