We'd like to introduce you to one of our Fort Worth Cooking School Chefs. Nettie Lopez has worked for Central Market Fort Worth for almost 5 years, and is known around the store as "the cute one," a title she takes pride in. Nettie teaches all of our Tamales, Gorditas and other Latin cuisine classes, and even the occasional Diabetic workshop.

Before coming to Central Market, Nettie, together with her husband Eddie, opened Edward's Mexican Restaurant in Hurst, where they prospered for 16 years, all the while raising two sons. Prior to that, she worked as a hairdresser for 23 years.

Nettie's favorite department in Central Market (other than the Cooking School, of course!) is the Meat Market, because of the huge variety of amazing, high-quality meat. This gives her son Marcos a bone to pick with her, because he works in our Seafood Market!

When she isn't fixing tamales, gorditas or her delicious flan, Nettie enjoys traveling to Austin, Texas to see the newest man in her life – her beautiful 3 month-old grandson, Cabo.

Come learn from Nettie and our other great chefs at the Central Market Cooking School in Fort Worth. We can't wait to see you!

Nettie is a wonderful grandmother (or "Mimi" as she likes to call herself) to our beautiful son Cabo. She is also a wonderful cook and we love when she comes to visit us in Austin to cook one of her Central Market specialties. We hope to take one of her classes soon!!
