Wine pairings for the Grill Guru

It is that time of year again!

Ladies and Gentlemen, start your grills. It is Thrill of the Grill week at Central Market. Get ready to be tempted by tastings regaled with recipes and surprised by our grilling possibilities. This is the time to fill your grill and get inspired, too!

Creating the perfect match for simply grilled meat is not something that warrants obsession and anxiety.

This week we have 2 featured red wines perfect for the Grilling Guru.

Sierra Salinas "Mo" 2006 consists of mostly Monastrell, with small portions of Garnacha (Grenache), Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.  It’s big, dark, and rich, but has an admirable balance that serves it very well. This is a wine for moderately spicy foods that have lots of fat, think carnitas, or Texas style beef brisket. Robert Parker of the Wine Advocate calls this grilling red wine, "A massive crowd pleaser." 90 point wine under $10, unbelievable value! Save $5!

Our other favorite for your grilling creations is La Ferme Cotes du Rhone. Whether you are grilling burgers, fruit, T-bones, pizza, goat, boar, bacon, venison, chicken, pork chops, ribs, tuna, you name it, this will work. This wine's simple fruit flavors and snappy acidity make it a match! Only $8.95!
