North Lamar presents Personal Chef George Scot Loranc at your service!

George Scot Loranc is no stranger to the kitchen. He began working in the restaurant industry at the age of eighteen, starting at the bottom and working his way through the ranks. Cooking became his passion and soon it was time for more formal training to advance his skills and develop his palate. Scot elected to attend the highly reputable and unparalleled Culinary Institute of America. Here opportunity presented itself to train under some of the best chefs and master chefs in the world, an opportunity certainly not lost on Scot.

With formal training complete, Scot began his catering career as a private chef for a family in New York City in 1999. After hosting several dinners and cocktail parties, he began to receive numerous calls from the attendees requesting that he expand his clientele circle. It was then that Epicurious George, his first full service catering and event planning adventure, was born. Scot ran this highly succesful business for three and a half years before relocating back to his home state of Texas. In 2003, he began restaurant consulting throughout Austin. Before long, he found himself back in the kitchen, this time as a Sous Chef for McCormick and Schmick's. It was only a matter or time before Scot chose to share his talents with Central Market. He has served here as head of the seafood department and has most recently stepped into the role as one of the cooking school's head chefs.
